Becoming a Christian is the most important decision you could possibly make in life. Life on earth is short, compared to eternity, it is but a brief moment. It is only during our time on earth that we have opportunity to make peace with God
Each and every one of us in born into sin. In our own strength, we could never meet the criteria required to be holy and enter Gods presence, as sin is part of our very nature. 2000 years ago, God sent His son, Jesus to die in our place, and take the punishment for our sin. He was a sacrifice for us, showing how much God loves us. Through looking to His sacrifice, we can find forgiveness and healing
Four Important Steps
1. Acknowledge belief in the Lord Jesus Christ, God the son, and that God raised Him from the dead.
Confess your sins to God the Father, asking for forgiveness and cleansing. This means a genuine desire to change, with Gods help.
Invite God to enter your life through the Holy Spirit, and make Him head of your life from this time on. Read His word (The Bible) daily, and follow its teaching. Talk to God and ask for His help.
Become part of a Church that believes the Bible, and attend regularly. This will put you in fellowship with like minded people who can encourage and help you in your new found walk with God.
Some Important Bible Verses
16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. 18 Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son.
9 If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved. 11 As Scripture says, “Anyone who believes in him will never be put to shame.
1 Corinthians 5:17
17But whoever is united with the Lord is one with him in spirit.
